Medical disclaimer

Every page on this site is educational information about sports injuries, written for a general audience and reviewed by a physician. None of it is medical advice for you specifically, none of it diagnoses anything, and none of it promises an outcome; recovery timelines here are always ranges because bodies vary. Nothing on this site substitutes for an in-person evaluation.

Emergencies

If you have an emergency, stop reading and act: call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department, which in Key West is Lower Keys Medical Center. Emergencies include visible deformity or bone through the skin, a joint that cannot bear weight at all, numbness or color change below an injury, severe uncontrolled pain, head injury with confusion or vomiting, chest pain, trouble breathing, and any suspected decompression illness after diving.

What physician review means and does not mean

Physician review means a named, dually board certified physician has read each clinical page, checked its claims against current guidance, and approved the pre-written notes behind the Injury Wire before they render. It does not mean the reviewer has examined you, knows your history, or has formed any opinion about your situation. General accuracy and individual applicability are different things, and only an examination bridges them.

Tools

The interactive Heat Safety Advisor carries this line, and it applies to every interactive element on the site: This tool is for education only. It does not diagnose any condition and does not replace an evaluation by a physician.

Getting actually evaluated

For a real evaluation, physicians at Key West Concierge Orthopedics evaluate and treat sports injuries without surgery whenever possible; the routing details live on the contact page. Same-day or next-day appointments may be available. Availability changes, please call ahead to confirm.
